Fenqihu Loco shed is one of the three major loco sheds of the Alishan Forest Railway. In addition to the loco shed, inspection loco sheds and supervisor’s quarters are nearby due to Fenqihu’s importance as a relay point for the forest railway. Fenqihu Loco Shed is the last wooden structure loco shed on the forest railway. Its distinctive wooden construction method, along with its historical, cultural, and artistic significance, has led to its designation as a county-level historical monument in 2009. The loco shed has recently regained its former glory thanks to historical research and professional restoration. The historical monument was preserved and revitalized using curation and dynamic preservation techniques.
